It's lights out and away we go!
That line has become iconic in Formula 1. It’s the line spoken during the years in which Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen became world champions. And it was during those years that a young Dutch boy curiously sat by the TV as his father watched the racing going on.
A decade later, that same Dutch boy heard rumblings of one of his countrymen making waves in Formula 1, and all those memories came flooding back. The same love for Formula 1 was reignited and I started watching every single race. And then the support races. And sporadically some IndyCar and WEC as well, just for the fun of it.
After a brief stint as a newsreader on local radio, I switched to Formula 1 reporting in 2022. With the nail biting finale still fresh in mind, I wanted to be as involved as possible in this sport that I had grown to love. Two years on and I have now decided that I want the freedom that my own blog can provide me. I won’t be posting every single news story or rumor coming out of this magnificent sport, but I will be keeping you up to date on what is happening in F1, with plenty of opinion sprinkled through it.
I hope you enjoy what you’ll find here. And I hope that you’ll grow to love this sport as much as I have.
